The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is a once-in-a-generation undertaking. The project will deliver much-needed transportation improvements for international travelers, and will provide opportunities for growth to the Windsor-Detroit region. The bridge has a cable-stayed design with a clear span of .53 miles, the largest main span of any cable-stayed bridge in North America. It will have 3 lanes of traffic in each direction with dedicated paths for pedestrians and cyclists. This project will create new Ports of Entry on both the US and Canadian sides. Both will be among the largest and most advanced points of entry in North America.
